Zoco Ensemble is an exciting new group that combines the unique sounds of the guitar, cello and oboe/English horn. Respected in their own rights as soloists and chamber musicians, Canadian Hannah Addario-Berry (cello), Australian Jacob Cordover (guitar) and American Laura Karney (oboe/English horn) have joined forces to present a collection works by contemporary America, Argentinean, Australian, British, Cuban, New Zealand and Russian composers.
This unique ensemble will perform a collection of contemporary works in all combinations the instruments allow; solos, duos and trios. Presented in this concert will be a mixture of original instrumental compositions, works commissioned by the players as well as works arranged for this combination of instruments by the ensemble. The concert will feature woks by Ross Edwards, Leo Brouwer, Lennox Berkeley, Jack Body as well as Bay Area composer Belinda Reynolds and Durwynne Hsieh.
