Soundvoice music and technology workshops are offered free of charge to residents of San Francisco who are experiencing housing or job insecurities. Each class featured a different guest artist presenting tools for recording, audio editing, and composition. The workshops will be led by Julie Herndon along with Hassan Estakhrian, John Ivers, Barbara Nerness, and Matt Robidoux: all sound makers based in San Francisco, Stanford, and the East Bay.
Soundvoice 2021 is made possible by a generous grant from the American Composers Forum as part of their Bay Area Artist in Residence program, with the support of Code Tenderloin, Hospitality House, and the Center for New Music. Since launching in 2015 with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Soundvoice has built a lasting relationship between the arts community and residents.
