Netmoiré creates an energetic and mercurial experience that blends avant-garde free improvisation with electronic, beat-driven music. This performance features Jason Charney and Josh Simmons on laptops, reinterpreting improvisations with saxophonist Nick Zoulek and generative, audio-responsive animation.
Working mostly with live processing of his musical (or non-musical) environment, Edwin Huet expressively deconstructs, molds, and repurposes his raw materials – resulting in abstract sound worlds ranging from serene to cataclysmic, droning to sporadic, and distorted to organic. In this case, constant streams of both premade and found sounds replace live microphone input, leading to a unified mesh of noise and re-purposed art.
