Portland-based composer and pianist Karl Schultz comes to San Francisco to play his own solo piano music and that of Bay Area colleagues. A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Schultz is returning to the Bay Area to make his debut as a new music pianist. The concert will feature the premier of selections from Schultz’s 12 Ricercari for Piano, a set of works exploring Schult’z self-developed system of polytonal counterpoint as well as other works by Schultz. It will also feature the works of Bay Area composers Joseph M. Colombo, David Conte, and Nicolas Lell Benavides. Concert will be an hour in total with 50 minutes of music and a 10 minute intermission in the middle.
