Elevate Ensemble Presents: Old Girls Club

So many women are writing amazing music today, there’s really no excuse for the continued overrepresentation of male composers on concert programs. Elevate has always believed in the importance of promoting female composers, but we wanted to do more to balance the scales.
That’s why we’re excited to present this all-female program, featuring music by a handful of the many innovative women composers who deserve to be heard more broadly.
Composers on the program include Lisa Bielawa, Julie Barwick, Tania León, Edie Hill, and Jocelyn Hagen. This concert is presented in conjunction with curator Emma Logan at the Center for New Music.
