David Harrington is the founder and main engine of the Kronos Quartet. While known mostly through his activities with the Quartet, David’s mind and hands are all over a host of musical issues. The evening will consist of part talk, part discussion (with the audience), part sampling of musical examples (from both David & the audience), part reminiscence, and part performance and master class (guest performers include The Living Earth Show and poet Ashley Smiley). Subjects will be far ranging, from issues like “Making Art in Today’s World”, to anecdotes from the Kronos archives, to answering questions from the audience. The Kronos Quartet is not just one of our home grown jewels, but is also arguably the most famous string quartet in the world. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with one of the true creative “spark-plugs” of our local, national and international musical landscape.
