This special edition of the Composer Meetup includes a watch party and discussion! Join your fellow new music enthusiasts to view footage from the recent World New Music Days, taking place in Vancouver in November.
The meetup will begin at 6 PM with a screening of the November 6 concert of World New Music Days, featuring two of Canada’s top ensembles, the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal and Turning Point Ensemble.
The program features the premiere of Canadian composer Ana Sokolović’s new violin concerto, Evta performed by Andréa Tyniec and Ensemble Contemporain de Montreal (ECM+) conducted by Véronique Lacroix, and Turning Point Ensemble performing a surrealistic fairy tale by Serbian composer Isidora Žebeljan’s.
