Michael Bang will be leading several different keyboard ensembles through various pieces, including “In T”, which has a totally original title that doesn’t reference any pre-existing works. The piece was recorded by 12 keyboards at Tiny Telephone recording studio in Oakland. The live performance will feature 4-5 keyboards depending on who gets back to Michael by the time of the concert.
Michael Bang is a Bay Area composer and musician. He received a B.A. in music composition from the University of California, Los Angeles under David Lefkowitz and Mark Carlson, and an M.A. from San Francisco State University under Benjamin Sabey and Richard Festinger. Michael Bang has worked with Dal Niente, Elevate Ensemble, loadbang, Mivos Quartet, and Splinter Reeds. He has taught courses at San Francisco State University, and has had his music performed at the June in Buffalo Festival. In addition to classical music, Michael also writes, sings, and plays various instruments for an avant classical folk ensemble, as well as the rock bands The Riot Professor and Veins.
