Charles Xavier: From Cristi to Bosco

FROM CRISTI TO BOSCO is a musical theater event that crosses multiple boundaries: sonic exploration and creative jazz as the musical basis of a musical theater event – and the story – a satire set in a recording studio.

The protagonist is a composer, who by night, writes his experimental music “The Bosco Series” project, and, by day, takes a satirical viewpoint of of recording the voice of Cristi, a voice-activated personal digital assistant. From the casting calls of American English, French, German, Aussie, Japanese and Chinese speakers to the ironies of impeccable customer service, it’s comedy about human interactions from a global but localized view, which is what happens when you have ridiculously short deadlines and torturous guidelines made on a minute’s notice. You might say that this story will explore the purpose and frustration of the life journey as dreams and nightmares unfold.

From CRISTI to BOSCO is a unique composition of electronica paired with percussion arts and synth interplay. There are many elegant lines and avant garde improvisations of piano, trumpet, saxophone, guitar and bass. The theater story will have a simple set as well as an immersive environment of  multi-media images projected on multiple screens, text and sampled audio, and rap lyrics. The story will be funny and irreverent with multiple inspirations from the Broadway hits Rent and Hamilton, and by the countless experimental music and theatric performances produced by SFJAZZ, SFEMF, Soundbox and others in the Bay Area.

The core musical players are featured in the Cow Walk Orchestra:
Clifford Brown III, aka CBIII, who leads with jazz call and response sonic patterns, and simple to complex dissonant melodies.

Matt Montgomery, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, and video game developer, who plays snarky electric guitar and violin.

Rashida Clendening (Audio Angel), Rashida is celebrating over 20 years as an award-winning Voice Actor, inspired by the multitude of styles.

Charles Xavier, aka The Xman, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and percussive arts and electronica extraordinaire.
