Charles Xavier: From Cristi to Bosco

FROM CRISTI TO BOSCO is an Experimental Jazz concert and theater event.

The musical theater story is a satire based on Charles Xavier’s career in audio post production. During the day, he is part of the creative team that produced one of the first voice-activated personal digital assistants, and by night, he recorded the music he composed under his record label. Set in the city of San Francisco, this jazz techno project has an insider’s view through memorable rap lyrics and music distinctively improvised as sonic explorations and fantasia. The highly secretive audition process for casting CRISTI, the chaotic lifestyle in creating such a product and the exotic humans involved who create CRISTI give fire to this flame.

FROM CRISTI TO BOSCO combines the creative arts of sonic electronica explorations with the Xman’s acoustic percussive arts, Clifford Brown III aka CBIII echoing trumpet lead lines, call and response flutter patterns, simple dissonant melodies, with real time multimedia images projected on multiple screens, text and sampled audio, spoken word narratives that explore the purpose and frustration of the journey as dreams and nightmares unfold. The names in the story have been changed and the story portrays a satiric view and humor of the recording of Apple’s SIRI digital, voice-activated assistant.
